Here at PhD Swim School, we understand that initial water safety training is only the first chapter of a much longer swimming journey. Once your child has successfully completed our core survival program, they are ready for the next phase. We shift focus from foundational self-rescue to mastering efficient and beautiful stroke technique. Our mission remains to turn necessary skills into a confident, lifelong love for the water.

Kicks & Tricks: Refining Foundational Movement

The Survival class teaches the all-important float, but our Kicks & Tricks program refines movement and efficiency. We gently introduce proper kicking techniques and streamline positioning to make swimming easier and more enjoyable. Our goal is to ensure the movements built on the infant survival skills are not just safe, but also energy-efficient and correct for long-term enjoyment.

FUNdations: Building the Base of Every Stroke

Moving into our FUNdations level, we establish the essential pre-stroke fundamentals using fun, engaging exercises. This stage is where children aged three and up learn to connect their independent swimming with arm movements. We focus on building a strong, neutral body position and controlled breathing, which are crucial components for successful, fluid swimming strokes later on.

The Importance of Continuous Maintenance Classes

Swimming is a skill that requires regular practice; therefore, maintenance is key to retention. Our weekly maintenance classes build upon the initial lessons learned, ensuring that self-rescue skills remain sharp and reliable over time. Consistency helps students advance seamlessly through the levels, from beginner to advanced stroke, keeping confidence high and skills polished indefinitely.

Our Commitment to the Full Swimming Spectrum

We proudly teach the entire spectrum of swimming, from the essential infant survival stage all the way to competitive stroke training. We believe in providing a comprehensive, uninterrupted path for every student in our program. Our commitment means your child receives expert, consistent instruction from their first float to their first race, ensuring quality at every level.

As your local expert swim school, we are here to support your child’s entire aquatic career. We encourage all parents to continue their child’s education beyond the initial self-rescue course. The next step is always waiting! Learn how PhD Swim School can provide your child with confidence, skill, and a comprehensive path to becoming a truly strong swimmer.
