Kicks & Tricks for Swimming Infants and Toddlers

Teaches Body Positions And Kick Technique

The main purpose of our Kicks & Tricks swim lessons is to improve your child’s body position in the water and ensure they have fun swimming in a structured environment.

In this class, students will learn or improve their prone (face-down) kicking skills and refine the crucial swim-float-swim sequence. This refinement prepares them for the next stage: our FUNdations level. We incorporate a variety of toys, games, and activities into every lesson to encourage a deep love of the water, balanced with a continued respect for it.

What Age Is This Appropriate For?

Kicks & Tricks is specifically designed for recent graduates of our Survival swim lessons.

Why Should My Child Take Kicks & Tricks Swimming Classes?

Learning to swim is a motor skill, just like walking or riding a bike. To be effective, it must be practiced regularly and correctly. We highly recommend that all Survival students take a maintenance class like Kicks & Tricks. These ongoing swim lessons continue strengthening their safety skills while also learning the building blocks of freestyle.

Can My Child Start Your Program In Your Kicks And Tricks Swimming Classes?

We will accept a new student only if they have been trained by a similar program and can demonstrate that they can attain and maintain a survival float on the first day of class.

My Child Is Nervous About The Water. Is This Class Right For Them?

This class is for children who have already completed a survival program. However, our instructors are experts at working with children of all temperaments. We use toys and games specifically to build positive associations with the water, reinforcing their confidence and encouraging a love of swimming.

What's The Difference Between Survival And Kicks & Tricks?

Our Survival program is focused on teaching your child life-saving safety skills, specifically the swim-float-swim sequence. Kicks & Tricks builds on that foundation, refining their kicking and body position to transition them toward more formal swimming techniques, all while in a fun, game-based environment.

What Are The Specific Goals Of Kicks & Tricks Swimming Classes?

Our swimming instructors focus on several key goals for every student:
