PHD SWIM SCHOOL
Advanced Stroke:
1 student per class
4 years and up
Before enrolling in this weekly class, children are required to swim 15 meters each of freestyle and backstroke.
Lessons are fiftenn minutes long, once a week.
Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of breaststroke and butterfly, and learn skills to prepare them for swim team while having fun!
This class is more focused on stroke technique and is suitable for swimmers with the interest and attention span to focus on skill-building.
Survival Program:
1 student per class (Private/one-on-one)
Crawling infant through age eight
This class is required for all new students to PhD Swim School.
This class is designed to teach independent swimming and survival skills to toddlers and young children.
After being gently introduced to the water and learning to hold their breath, children will learn to float on their backs to rest and breathe in the event of an aquatic accident.
They will also learn to swim a short distance (depending on age) in between back floats to reach a safe destination.
Lessons are 15 minutes a day, one-on-one, three days per week. To graduate from this program, children will complete a simulated drowning scenario fully clothed.
Kicks & Tricks:
1 student per class
Crawling infant through 36 months
Before enrolling in this weekly class, children are required to either complete the Survival program or demonstrate their ability to attain and maintain a survival back float.
Lessons are fiftenn minutes long, once a week.
Children will be introduced to the “fun” side of swimming while building prone swimming skills and improving body and head positions.
This is a play-based class suitable for our youngest students who need to strengthen their kick, maintain their survival skills, and prepare for FUNdations.
FUNdations:
1 student per class
24 months through age 5
Before enrolling in this weekly class, children are required to either complete the Survival program or demonstrate their ability to attain and maintain a survival back float and swim 5 feet unassisted
Lessons are fiftenn minutes long, once a week.
Children will refine body and head positions, improve kick technique, and learn hand-lead swimming.
This is a play-based class suitable for Survival graduates who can swim-float-swim well and need to prepare to learn stroke development.
Beginning Stroke:
1 students per class
3 years and up
Before enrolling in this weekly class, children are required to swim 15 meters independently with good kick technique and proper head/body position, and handle themselves in deep water.
Lessons are fifteen minutes long, once a week.
Children will learn freestyle with side breathing as well as backstroke.
This class is more focused on building proper stroke technique and swim team readiness and is suitable for the slightly older swimmer who is starting to outgrow FUNdations but still wants to play!
Competitive Stroke:
1 student per class
5 years and up
Before enrolling in this weekly class, children are required to swim a legal 100M Individual Medley (4 lengths of a standard pool, all 4 strokes.)
Lessons are fifteen inutes long, once a week.
This class will teach competitive stroke technique for all four strokes, build endurance, and prepare swimmers to succeed in USA Swimming.
Swim Levels
