PHD SWIM SCHOOL
Coach Rebecca is a former lifeguard and swim instructor for the Town of Chapel Hill, and a former ranch hand and cowboy from a ranch out in Wyoming. She has a passion for working with animals and children, and holds a special place in her heart for children with special needs, as she volunteers with Ride the Sky Stables on their annual event with the Autism Society of North Carolina, and has a nephew that has Down Syndrome.
Rebecca heard about PhD from a family member after seeing their two-year-old son complete the program and deciding she wanted to teach these life-saving skills herself! Rebecca is currently a student at Durham Technical Community College, and is in their Respiratory Therapy program. After she graduates, Rebecca would like to go to school for speech pathology part-time, and work with children that have special needs and speech problems. Coach Rebecca has completed over 50 hours of academic and in-water training to learn our method. She currently teaches Survival, Kicks and Tricks, Fundations, and Beginning Stroke.
