PHD SWIM SCHOOL
Coach Jessica holds a Master of Public Health degree with advanced study in social and behavioral sciences, including behavioral intervention and communications. Prior to joining PhD, Jessica had more than 7 years of work history in teaching and facilitation, as well as more than three decades of swimming experience, including participation in youth swim team, adult masters swim, and triathlon competitions. Outside of the pool, Jessica performs in educational, interactive theater as an actor for the Triangle's Theater Delta. They are also a musician and a research/planning consultant.
Jessica is fluent in Spanish and has extensive personal experience with both gender diversity and disability, especially neurodiversity and chronic illness, making them a great fit for children with varying backgrounds and abilities. Jessica has undergone over 50 hours of academic and in-water training to learn our method. They currently teach Survival (I Can Swim!), Kicks and Tricks, FUNdations and Beginning Stroke.
